Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 27, 2026
Vidably Inc. ("Vidably," "we," "us," or "our") provides product video and product evidence tools for ecommerce merchants. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to contact us about privacy questions.
This policy applies to Vidably websites, the Vidably Shopify app, Vidably storefront widgets, Vidably-hosted evidence pages, and related product video and evidence services.
Information We Collect
Merchant and Store Information
When a merchant installs or uses Vidably, we may collect information needed to provide the service, including:
- Store name, store domain, Shopify shop identifiers, and app installation records.
- Shopify app credentials and access tokens needed to operate the app.
- Product catalog information, such as product IDs, titles, handles, variants, images, descriptions, status, and product metadata.
- Product-specific video records, evidence records, publication status, and widget configuration.
- Merchant contact information provided to us through Shopify, support, sales, or other communications.
- App usage, setup status, diagnostics, and error information.
We use this information to operate the app, sync products, associate videos with products, display videos on product pages, publish product evidence, provide support, and improve Vidably.
Product Videos and Evidence
Vidably may collect and process product video content and related materials, including:
- Video files, thumbnails, playback IDs, duration, upload timestamps, and encoding metadata.
- Transcripts, captions, summaries, product attributes, and other evidence derived from product videos.
- Approval, moderation, publication, and deletion status.
If a video includes a person's likeness, voice, name, location, or other identifying information, that information may be included in the video and in related evidence content. Merchants and contributors are responsible for ensuring they have the rights and permissions needed to provide videos and other content to Vidably.
Storefront Widget Information
When a shopper views or interacts with a Vidably widget on a merchant's storefront, we may collect limited widget interaction data, such as:
- Product ID and video ID.
- Video play, pause, completion, and watch-time events.
- A pseudonymous session identifier.
- Page URL, timestamp, device/browser information, and standard technical request data such as IP address and user agent.
The Vidably storefront widget does not intentionally collect shoppers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses, billing addresses, payment information, or order history.
We use widget interaction data to operate the widget, troubleshoot playback, prevent abuse, understand whether videos are being viewed, and improve the product experience.

When you visit vidably.com or contact us, we may collect information such as:
- Pages viewed, referring pages, device/browser information, approximate location, and website analytics.
- Name, email address, company, role, and message contents if you submit a form, request a demo, join a waitlist, or contact support.
- Communications history and troubleshooting details.

- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve Vidably.
- Authenticate and support merchant app installations.

AI Processing
Vidably may use artificial intelligence and machine learning systems to process product videos and related content. This may include transcription, summarization, product attribute extraction, product evidence generation, and content quality checks.
AI-generated outputs may be reviewed, edited, approved, rejected, unpublished, or removed. If product videos or transcripts include personal information, that information may be processed by our AI service providers as needed to provide Vidably.
Public Product Evidence
Vidably may publish product-specific video evidence on merchant product pages, Vidably-hosted evidence pages, structured data, feeds, or related discovery surfaces.
Public evidence pages are intended to make product-specific video context available to shoppers and discovery systems. If published video content includes a person's likeness, voice, or other personal information, that information may be publicly visible.
Merchants and contributors should not provide content they do not have permission to publish.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Vidably may use cookies, session storage, local storage, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies.
On Vidably-owned websites, we may use these technologies for site analytics, security, performance, preferences, and understanding interest in Vidably.
In the storefront widget, we may use browser session storage to maintain a pseudonymous session identifier for basic video engagement events.
You can usually block or clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if these technologies are disabled.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information with:
- Merchants, to provide product video status, product evidence status, and related app functionality.
- Service providers, who process information for hosting, databases, video hosting and streaming, AI processing, email delivery, analytics, logging, security, and support.
- Shopify, as needed to install and operate the app, authenticate requests, sync product data, manage app-related product metadata, and comply with Shopify platform requirements.
- Legal or safety recipients, if required to comply with law, enforce agreements, protect rights, prevent fraud or abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
- Business transaction parties, if Vidably is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.
Current service providers may include Shopify, Vercel, Neon, Mux, Google Cloud/Vertex AI, Resend, and similar operational vendors.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Vidably, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and operate our business.
In general:
- Merchant app and product data are retained while the merchant uses Vidably.
- Product videos and evidence are retained while needed to provide the service, unless removed earlier by the merchant, Vidably, or a valid rights request.
- Widget interaction data is retained only as long as needed for operation, diagnostics, security, analytics, and improvement.
- Backups, logs, and security records may persist for a limited period before being deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course.
If a merchant uninstalls the Vidably Shopify app, we delete or de-identify app-controlled store data as required by Shopify platform requirements and applicable law, subject to backup retention, security logs, and records we are legally required or permitted to keep.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include encryption in transit, provider-managed encryption at rest, access controls, credential protection, logging, monitoring, and rate limiting.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
International Processing
Vidably is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. If you use Vidably from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws.

Depending on your location and relationship with Vidably, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or request portability of personal information.
To make a request, contact privacy@vidably.com. We may need to verify your identity and your relationship to the relevant merchant, store, product, video, or data before responding.
If your request relates to a merchant store, customer relationship, product page, or purchase, we may direct you to the merchant or work with the merchant to respond.
Children
Vidably is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Merchants and contributors should not provide videos or content featuring children unless they have all required rights, permissions, and legal authority.
Merchant Responsibilities
Merchants are responsible for their own privacy policies, customer notices, consent requirements, product claims, and content rights. Merchants must ensure they have the rights and permissions needed to provide videos, media, product evidence, and related content to Vidably.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we may notify merchants by email, in-app notice, website notice, or other appropriate means.
